Time for hiking

The area around Lygnern offers many lovely hiking trails with various levels of difficulty. Pack your hiking boots and camera for a wonderful experience in Sätila’s beautiful nature. From Lygnevi there are four marked hiking trails. All these routes are marked with orange markings, with taped poles, painted dots on trees or with arrows. Of these trails, the Flohult route is pram-friendly.

In addition, there are a number of trails which are not marked. These can be followed by downloading them to your phone or other device. Download links are provide below for each route. Click ‘Open in Google Maps’ and you can open the map conveniently in satellite mode.

NSome routes have a GPX file that you can download if you prefer. There are a variety of apps that can open GPX files, including Google Earth, GPSRouteX, Strava, and GPX Viewer.

The maps include have a number of blue tags. When you click on these, you’ll get information and / or pictures for that location.


Beautiful hiking trails, different levels of difficulty

Our routes

Flohult

The Flohult hiking trail is 6.6 km long and is pram-friendly. The trail starts from Lygnevi sports ground and runs on paved and gravel roads. The trail passes Skogshöjd, Grönadal and Flohult’s beautiful beach.

Kullanäs

The Kullanäs trail is 4.7 km long. The trail starts from Lygnevi sports ground and follows gravel tracks, paved roads and forest paths with slippery roots.

Ramhulta

The Ramhulta trail stretches from Sätila 6.5 km to Ramhulta (the round trip it is twice as long). The trail starts with a walk on asphalt about 2 km over the ‘Smälteryd bridge’ before following forest paths.

Torrås

The Torrås trail is 11.2 km long. It starts from Lygnevi sports ground and goes on gravel tracks, paved roads and forest paths. The trail passes Skogshöjd, Grönadal and Flohult beautiful beach.

Strömma

The Strömma hiking trail is 8.4 km long. The trail starts from Lygnevi and goes up to Sätila church via the illuminated forest trail past Äggsjön to Strömma and back to Sätila on gravel roads, paved roads and forest paths.

Klätten

The Klätten trail is about 10 km long. The trail starts from Lygnevi and goes via Smälteryd bridge up the hill to Lygnesvider. Then you go south to Klätten, before turning towards Sätila again.

Ösjö

The Ösjö hiking trail is 14.5 km long. The trail starts from Lygnevi and goes via Flohult and Hjorthulan up to Torrås, and then further through the forest to Ösjö, past some crofts before coming to Flohult again.

Flohult

The Flohult hiking trail is 6.6 km long and is pram friendly. The trail starts from Lygnevi sports ground and runs on gravel roads and paved roads. The trail passes Skogshöjd, Grönadal and Flohult’s beautiful beach.

Kullanäs

The Kullanäs hiking trail is 4.7 km long. It is not pram friendly. The trail starts from Lygnevi sports ground and goes on gravel roads, paved roads and forest paths with slippery roots. The trail passes Skogshöjd, Grönadal and if you want you can visit Flohult’s beautiful beach, which is located right in front of the Kullanäs marking. The trail goes out on ‘Kullanäs cape’ which is a very popular excursion destination and where there is a shelter with barbecue area. The cliff at the headland is a beautiful meditation site. You then follow the trail around the headland along the water and come to the meadow at Strandbo where there are sometimes animals grazing. If you want, you can then follow the shoreline back to Lygnevi.

Ramhulta

The Ramhulta hiking trail stretches from Sätila 6.5 km to Ramhulta. Round trip it is twice as long. The trail starts with a walk on asphalt about 2 km over ‘Smältryd bridge’ towards Fjärås and the marked descent just before the road towards Ubbhult (Jägmästarvägen / Sjödalsvägen). The trail then goes exclusively on paths along the northern shore of Lygnern and the Änghagen and Ramhulta nature reserves.

A barbecue area, ‘Buarås meadow’, is passed after a little more than half of the stretch. When you reach the Ramhulta waterfall, you first pass it at the top of the falls and then go down to the base. The boat ISA has a jetty at the falls and during the summer season you can agree with the boat’s booking manager either to go there with ISA and hike back or to be picked up by ISA after hiking to Ramhulta. The alternative is to walk back or to be transported back by other means.

Torrås

The hiking trail Torrås is 11.2 km long. The trail starts from Lygnevi sports ground and goes on gravel roads, paved roads and forest paths. The trail passes Skogshöjd, Grönadal and the beautiful beach at Flohult. It follows Lygnern towards Hjorthulan. A number of very steep slopes lead to Torrås via Mosskärr. From Torrås, the trail goes on the old Fotskäl road back to Flohult and down to the beach, then back again towards Lygnevi.

Strömma

The Strömma hiking trail is 8.4 km long. The trail starts from Lygnevi and goes up to Sätila church via the illuminated forest trail past Äggsjön to Strömma and back to Sätila on gravel roads, paved roads and forest paths.

Klätten

The Klätten hiking trail is about 10 km long. The trail starts from Lygnevi and goes via Smälteryd bridge up the hill to Lygnesvider. Then you go south to Klätten, before turning towards Sätila again. If you choose to follow Fjäråsvägen from Buarås on the way back, the whole route will be pram friendly. If you choose to walk the yellow-marked trail from Buaråsvägen to Änghagen, you pass a very nice viewing point and avoid walking on the asphalt road.

Ösjö

The Ösjö hiking trail is 14.5 km long. The trail starts from Lygnevi and goes via Flohult and Hjorthulan up to Torrås, and then on through the forest to Ösjö, some crofts are passed before you come to Flohult again, then back towards Lygnevi.
